Dean's Office
In October 2005, the College of Arts & Sciences was divided to form the College of Sciences (COS) and the College of Arts & Humanities. Dr. Peter Panousis, the former director of the Institute for Economic Competiveness at UCF, was appointed by President Hitt as the interim dean for COS.
In establishing a new college, Dr. Panousis is reorganizing the budgeting system, implementing a new mission and vision, and instituting practices for the largest college within the university.
Additionally, the dean’s office acts as the liaison between the college’s departments and other offices throughout the university, including Academic Affairs, Human Resources and the office of Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action. The dean’s office supports the departments in a myriad of items, including, but not limited to, budget, hiring, and student affairs.
