Psychology Undergrad Wins National Research Award

Theresa N. Trombly, a senior psychology major, has received a Psi Chi Summer Research Award. Psi Chi is the National Honor Society for psychology majors. This national competition is designed to aid promising undergraduate psychology students in their research endeavors. Ms. Trombly was one of only 11 students in the United States who were awarded the $5,000 grant, being selected from over 100 applicants. Ms. Trombly will use the funds for her honors thesis entitled “The Psychophysiology of Selective Mutism,” which is being conducted under the mentorship of Deborah C. Beidel, Ph.D., ABPP, Professor and Director, Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology.   The website describing the awards can be found at www.psichi.org.
