The UCF Department of Physics will be showcasing its planetary sciences exploration through several activities.

  • Sun and Moon observation through telescope, weather permitting
  • Creating artificial comets with dry ice
  • Meteorite activities

The UCF Department of Biology will be showcasing:
Current Oyster Reef and "Living Shoreline" Restoration Efforts in Florida

  • Touch tank displays of estuarine biodiversity
  • Hands-on building of oyster mats for restoring oyster reefs in the Indian River Lagoon
  • Free distribution of children’s books on marine conservation co-authored by Dr. Linda Walters, her students and colleagues

Marine and Wildlife Conservation
  • Knights for Marine and Wildlife Conservation Club – hands-on activities, including a trivia and a crypsis test.
Entomology
  • Entomological Society of Central Florida – hands-on microscope activity with bugs and a live animal demonstration with hissing cockroaches
Academic Advising for Biology
  • Department of biology representatives will be present with information about their new Career Advising Office and the biology major.
Oyster Reef

Representatives from the College of Sciences Academic Services (COSAS) will be present with more information about the UCF College of Sciences and the degrees offered through our ten departments/school.
